Airport project flies ahead with Kavex textured UPVC cladding

Building plastics manufacturer Kestrel has helped a modern new airport on the Isle of Wight take flight with Kavex UPVC textured cladding.

The purpose built commercial building has been finished in light grey UPVC cladding, supplied through Unique Windows (IOW) Ltd.

Michael Turner, partner at Unique Windows said: “The contractor needed a product that would give the right modern, coastal look for the airport and would be easy to fit.

“We recommended Kavex UPVC textured cladding because it is easy to work with and faster to fit than some other cladding products.”

The building is completely clad in light grey Kavex plastic cladding, which is growing in popularity for coastal projects.

Keith Hart, business development manager for Kestrel, said: “Kavex UPVC textured cladding is popular in coastal areas and has been used on a number of domestic and commercial projects in the Isle of Wight.

“Not only does it have the right look, we designed the product to be easy to use, which means that there is no lengthy training process for contractors.”

The light grey UPVC cladding was recently used on tourist attraction Isle of Wight Pearl and will also be used on a development of chalets and hotel on the island. Once again Unique Windows will be supplying the products for the hotel and chalets.

Michael Turner added: “Our sales of Kavex have increased significantly over the past year. It is being used on a variety of projects, from large commercial developments through to domestic homes and even garden offices and summerhouses.

“The colours are very suited to coastal areas and provide weather-proofing that can stand up to seaside weather conditions.”

The Kavex range of decorative UPVC cladding is available in both shiplap and featheredge versions. It comes in five colours – white, sand, light grey, light blue and cream – with a range of colour matching trims.

UPVC shiplap cladding is available in a 300mm width as well as a more traditional 150mm option, while the featheredge version comes in a 270mm width.
