Kestrel Keith dives into shark-infested waters

The ‘jaws’-dropping moment happened when Keith was diving in the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt.

Unbeknown to Keith, as he swam in the diving hot spot, two sharks were swimming directly beneath him.

“I had the shock of my life when I spotted the tell-tale fins,” the granddad-of-one explained. “Luckily, on closer inspection, I realised that they were toothless whale sharks who would be far more interested in plankton than me!”

As a keen diver and snorkeler, when Keith isn’t working at the fascia and cladding manufacturer, he is happiest in the sea.

Along with the Red Sea, he has also visited diving hotspots such as The Great Barrier Reef and Gozo, but his top tip for anyone wanting to take a dip is far closer to home.

“Durdle Door on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast is a fantastic place to go snorkelling,” he said. “You will find spider crabs, lobster, bass and razorfish, and there’s good water visibility. I’d recommend it to anyone.”
